Dear Friends,
After 14 years, 7 albums, 2,254 live performances, 400,000 miles, 23 guitars, 4 drummers, 1 keyboard player, 2 bass players, 3 managers, 1 harmonica player, 5 weddings and 4 children, The Uninvited is calling it quits when our commitments end in November.
First and foremost we want to thank all of you, the people who loved and supported us, for making The Uninvited the adventure of our lives. You were the real core, the soul, the very reason why there was an Uninvited in the first place. That community, founded in music and shared experience, will be profoundly missed by each member of the band.
The reasons for this decision are many, but it really all comes down to this:
The Uninvited has run its course.
We ate the record company's expensive dinners, we rode in the limo, we had the life-altering, indescribable experience of hearing our song on the radio for the first time, the tears welling up in our eyes as the realization slowly settles on us that our dreams have come true. We played to countless thousands of people in almost every state of the Union, and now, it's time to move on to other adventures.
We will miss the hot lights, the sweat, the ringing ears, the love, the fights, the broken strings, the broken hearts, the shitty monitors, the excellent beer, the cheap beer, the good reviews, the sucky reviews where they got it all wrong, the screaming, the dancing, JT's little half-grin he gets when he knows he has the crowd in the palm of his hand, the diners, the roach motels, the five-star hotels, the crooked promoters, the name-dropping A&R wannabes, the real-deal A&R honchos, the flat tires, turning up, turning way up, turning up much louder than we're supposed to...
...but most of all, we will miss you.
Big, unimaginable love and gratitude beyond measure,
J.T., Steve, Ladd, Alex and Tony
The Uninvited.
P.S. The members of The Uninvited will continue to make music, together and separately, in new and exciting projects. We will finish out the rest of the year with the shows posted on the schedule, and that will be all. We also hope to book a very special goodbye show toward the end of the year, so watch the web site for details. Also, this is your last chance to get any CD's or Uninvited merchandise. When they're gone we will not be making any more.
